Waverley Community Council is a statutory consultee in the planning process. They can comment on an application but the principal authority, Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council makes the decision. Outline planning permission was given back in 2008 for the majority of the residential development in Waverley.
Planning applications are normally discussed by the Full Council which meets on the first Wednesday of each month. Details of the meetings are shown in the Council's Calendar. The Agenda for the forthcoming meeting is published at least 3 days prior to the meeting.
Whilst the Community Council considers and comments on all applications affecting Waverley, Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council decides whether those comments are material to the planning application or not.
