North and South Wheatley is a village and civil parish in the English county of Nottinghamshire. The village also has a local Primary School with an outstanding OfSted, a parish church, a chapel, a play park, a village hall, a farm shop, a butchers, a village store and a post office.

Wheatley dates back to Romans times and before. The Roman Road from Lincoln crossing the River Trent at Littleborough came through Wheatley on its way to Doncaster. Roman coins have been found in the village

Covid 19 restrictions still in place

Tier 3 – Very High Alert

Following the announcements by Government, Bassetlaw will be moving into TIER 3 (Very High Alert Level) from the 2nd December. Restrictions and further detail can be found via: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/local-restriction-tiers-what-you-need-to-know

Business Support Grants

Following the previous Tier system and national restrictions, the Government announced a number of different grants to support businesses that either had to close, or were impacted by the restrictions. So far we have paid out £1.7 million in grants to around 560 businesses. The grant window for applications closes at 5.00 pm on Friday 11 December 2020. Local Testing Site

Bassetlaw residents requiring a COVID 19 test can now use a local testing site that is located at Central Avenue Car Park in Worksop. This is a walk in facility, but people can park in the left hand side of the car park and walk through. Christmas Bin Collections

Bin collections over the Christmas and New Year period will be changing in Bassetlaw. Details of these changes can be found on Bassetlaws website and stickers will be attached to your blue bins from 30th November. Please make a note and make sure you are prepared for the changes.
