Newnham Parish Council

Serving the people of Newnham

Clerk: Mrs Marion Money
2 Western Row, Daventry
Northamptonshire NN11 4UD

A few of you reading this will be new to Newnham, so the Parish Council would like to welcome you to the village. We'd also like to say to all Newnham residents, both old and new, how important your involvement in the life of the village will be. There are a range of activities you may want to take part in or even get involved in the running of. You'll find mention of many of these on this website and in 'The Link'. We pride ourselves in being a caring and integrated community, please join in.

Many of our village organisations need funds from time to time to carry out new projects such as facility improvements, new equipment or special events. The Parish Council welcome requests for help and support and will try to accommodate where finances allow.

Traffic speeding through the village and parking outside the school are increasingly a problem in the village. We know that most of you would like to see some positive steps taken to improve the situation. The Parish Council has limited powers in this area, which is mainly the responsibility of the County Council. However we are very keen to establish what could be done to help and then try to get agreement and funding for it. We have recorded traffic speeds around the village and are in talks with DDC about the options available to us. We are also raising issues with DDC about the A45 junction at the top of the village where there have been serious accidents in the recent weeks.

Please remember that the Parish Council is here to represent all of you, so don't hesitate to approach any of us with any concerns or ideas that you may have that may improve village life. You may also contact our Clerk, or come along to one of our Parish Council Meetings where you will have the chance to talk to us.
