Serving the people of Little Houghton

The Village Shop is to Close

Del and Margaret have advised the Parish Council of their intention to retire from the proprietorship of the Village Shop and Post Office at the end of June this year.

They are now entering their 70 th year and feel that the time is right to take things a little easier.

However, they are concerned about the loss of a further village amenity. The Parish Council is working closely with Del and Margaret to explore the possibility of relocating the Post Office, news agents and possible retail offering if a suitable location and a community model can be found.

I would like to take this opportunity thank Del and Margaret for over 34 years of service, care and contribution to the village. Their cheery welcome and humour every day in the shop will be missed.

If anyone would like to offer help, their time or expertise in setting up a community Post Office and shop, please let me know.
