Serving the people of Kibworth Beauchamp

Kibworth Joint Recreation Board

The recreation and play areas in Kibworth Beauchamp and the Langton Road allotments are managed by a Joint Board of parish councillors from Kibworth Beauchamp and Kibworth Harcourt. The members of this Board are Sian Newnes (KHPC), Dr Kevin Feltham (KHPC & KBPC & Vice Chair) and Vijay Chavda (KHPC), Pat Copson (KBPC & Chair), Caroline Pitcher (KBPC & KHPC), John Hooley (KBPC) and Barbara Strevens (KBPC). We meet at Kibworth Grammar School Hall usually on alternate months.

Reports from the meetings held since 1 April 2020 are now included in the Parish Council meeting minutes.

Kibworth Beauchamp Parish Council owns the Smeeton Road recreation ground and, jointly with Kibworth Harcourt Parish Council, own the Warwick Road playing fields and recreation area (now called Warwick Park), including the play area between the primary school and railway, and also the new multi use games area (MUGA) installed on the site of the old skatepark in July 2020. There are two smaller areas of green open space in Larkswood and Rookery Close owned by Kibworth Harcourt Parish Council.

Kibworth Harcourt Parish Council will also be responsible for the play area on Polwell Road once the estate has been adopted from David Wilson Homes (expected 2020/21) and may then come under the management of the Kibworth Joint Recreation Board. Kibworth Harcourt Parish Council is solely responsible for the Jubilee Green play area including four items of adult exercise equipment, on Main Street.
