Projects managed by the Town Council
Breckland Park Play Area Improvements
We have £53,400 to spend on improvements for recreational facilities.
Over 500 people responded to our survey and we will arrange a meeting to discuss options soon
Speed Humps Gurney Road, Crown Road & Sunny Grove
An annual bid for local highway improvements means we contributed £10,050 towards speed humps in 2020-21(50% of total costs; the other 50% paid by Norfolk County Council). Humps will be installed by Norfolk County Council in 2020
Queen's Hills Play Areas
We will take on the management of four play areas and the "linear parks". Final handover is scheduled for 2020 and a commuted sum provided by developers will be used to maintain the play areas. We have also set aside some funds generated by the Community Infrastructure Levy for improvements.
We are seeking to install a borehole and irrigation measures at the Longwater Lane Recreation Ground, NR8 5AH
Greenhills Woods, Townhouse Road
In September 2016 we obtained a licence from the Forestry Commission to fell a hectare of Corsican Pine marked cp1 on the map below. In September we will prepare the site and remove the stumps, ready for the replanting scheme which will see 1,100 broadleaves planted during the Autumn of 2020.
