The Recreation Field is located alongside Slate Drift, and can also be reached on foot via a path running from the back of Collyns Way. There is a seven-a-side football area, a basketball hoop, a zip wire, play equipment for younger children, and a fenced-in Multi-Use Games Area ("MUGA"). A secure container stores sport equipment such as tennis rackets, nets, cones and cricket bats - which can be borrowed by arrangement (a small cash deposit is usually required, returnable when the equipment is found to be undamaged).
A Pocket Park, which you can walk through at any time of year, is maintained to promote the many wildflowers native to this Limestone Grassland area.
There is a small car park at the entrance. Please note that, for public safety reasons, there is an Order that all dogs must be kept on leads when visiting the Field. Special red bins have been provided, for owners to dispose of their pets' bagged droppings.
The Field is a registered charity, having been covenanted to the parish for the enjoyment of everyone.
